Abstract circle series

Circles have a long history in the visual arts and I’ve been painting them for many years. Circles have a symbolism linked to spirituality and religion. They are used to signify universalism, eternity and protection - the idea of infinite and endless shape that never end. I like the simplicity and entirety of circles, how they invite the viewer in, to be present. While I created this Abstract Circle series intuitively, observers have talked about their dreamlike, floating and calming features. These pictures in the Abstract Circle series have been created on board using acrylic paint and acrylic pens.
